I bought this painting at the Goodwill Outlet store - the store where you pay by the pound for items.   It is an interesting place where toasters are bad - cause they are heavy and buying paintings to paint over are a good deal.

When I saw her, I knew she would make a great background.

I sold THREE paintings this last weekend as part of the Open Studio Tours.
It is one thing to have people say they like my art and quite another to have them purchase.
Both are good.
One is definitely better.

I am part of the Washington County(Oregon) Open Studios Tour this coming weekend.   Saturday and Sunday - October 22nd and 23rd 2011 - I will have my studio open from 11am-5pm.  You can see how I create art with leftover house paint!

These QR code things are pretty cool.   Thinking of painting one on the side of my building.
If you don't have a QR reading on your phone - here is the website for the upcoming tour:

I scraped a bunch of wet paint of a painting that was not to my liking and look what happened!
Some people may see Jesus on toast or the Virgin Mary on a potato chip - but even better...
I see Salvador Dali in the paint puddle!

Getting organized for the tour!   Hope to see you here!

Still puttering around on the Klimt-inspired challenge that Gritty Jane, over there on Facebook put out there.

This is still stapled to the long piece of plywood that I painted it on...

Rip it - Cut it - Tear it - Glue it

I have been around some collage artists lately and I resisted the temptation to try it myself.

Then Steve Jobs died yesterday.
"Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary."
- Steve Jobs 1955 - 2011

So I decided to follow my heart and intuition this morning.

It is drying now and then I am not sure if it is done or not.
I will let my intuition decide later.
