There is a bonus ART FEST event!

On October 7th, artists from all around the WORLD will be placing birds they have created in trees and photographing them.
This is part of "International Bird Art Exhibition" day.

All the artist at ART FEST will bring a hand made bird and we will take photos and become part of the worldwide event. 

How fun is that?

Annie picked out a Helvi Smith painting that she will carry with her for a month.

I hope there is not a permit required to carry a painting around for 30 day.

My painting got to visit a glass gallery in Lincoln City, Oregon.

OK - so this is a teeny photo of the painting in Tillamook, Oregon.
Looks like this painting is gallery-hopping!

OK.
I know that is not a bird.
That is a deconstructed robot painting that I did not care for.

So I painted over it in blocks of color and then scraped away in a very artful manner, to reveal some of the pattern and colors of the original painting.

See - it is a fun technique!

I outlined my bird shape using my squirt bottle of black paint.

Painting in between the lines.

Like a coloring book....

Baaad Beak!   Must fix!

Beak fixed - but not sure about leaving that colorful "collar" on the bird...

Yeah.... better colored in.
Added a tail, too.

Time to color in the belly!

Made the belly bigger and squared off the edges a bit.

Belly belly good.

Stripes!  

Love it when I make the eye!   Now this bird is alive with personality!

This bird told me it is SASSY!
So that got it some SASSY arms!

Striped legs and a dotted belly and SASSY arms! 
What could be better?

I have no preconceived ideas when I paint and when something like this happens, it is magic.

This painting had a lot of nice texture and I re-painted it.  
Again.

Bird in the works.

I like this bird.

All that texture just adds so much to the painting.  
Almost like I had planned it.
(heh)

Pigeon eradication begins.

I never plan ahead what I am going to do.  

I just start painting.

I found a little tube of ORANGE acrylic paint at Goodwill yesterday and put it to use here.

Added a little of this and a little of that...

and a little of that and a little of this....until "Requiem for Two Pigeons" was completed.
