I saw a neat print of birds on ebay and it inspired me to Paint some boids. Then I thought it would be fun to do some boids on a really really abstract background. So I did.
I have been busy painting and posting on facebook and not writing here. So a little time to catch up a bit here. You can find me on facebook under: helvismith Be a fan! I have been painting chickens on abstract backgrounds. Kinda fun! Chicken a l'Orange And some of these:
I painted a chicken and I liked it. Then a little voice in my head ( a very INSISTENT voice) said, "Gimme a PURPLE Chicken!" OK - OK - OK! "RED RED RED!" Screamed the little voice in my head. The little voice is getting louder now.
"NO! I meant YELLOW! YELLOW YELLOW YELLOW!" I was not feeling well today and yet I really really wanted to paint that giant chicken on my latest painting this week. So I did. Threw in a couple of worms while I was at it.
I have been thinking about painting more flowers lately and today seems to be the "lately" day. Tomorrow these will be sunflowers. At least that is the plan today... Then the next day, I think I may paint a giant chicken on here too. Today I started several paintings with pods that may or may not become flowers.
I painted a lot this week and decided to practise some techiniques on my first layer of primer and then nothing lost- as I paint over it with my second layer of primer. This one I flung some paint on the first layer of primer and then painted over it and the first layer of paint left just a subtle texture. I like this effect. Today I decided to try to "fling" some flowers... I mixed up my own custom color to paint the steps at my office/studio and painted one section in the morning and the other in the afternoon - so I could use half the steps while the other half dried.
Unfortunately, each part dried a different color. So... What to do..... I decided to "patch" the two parts together in a creative way. |
I post on Facebook and Instagram all the time about what I am working on. Click on the BLUE links and check it out!
