I put three pieces into an art show last week and one got an honorable mention.

I was so surprised and well, quite pleased to get this ribbon!

I have been busy with the landscapes and it has been fun to do some different types of paintings...

Yes.
This is odd.
And oddly, I kinda like it...
To me - this is a landscape.

Is this a landscape?
Is this even right side up?
Hmmmmm.....

This is certainly a landscape.

Yep.
So is this.

I paint with canvas stapled to plywood and then my dear hubby puts these on stretcher bars when I am ready to take them out to be sold.

Saves a lot on storage space that way...
This one just got gallery wrapped this morning.

I had some backgrounds done and thought it would be fun to try and paint some birch trees.
It WAS fun!

Trying some more muted colors.

I worked on a big batch of paintings this week and I did not get much ebay work done.
sigh......
Next week i am challenging myself to list at least 3 things each day.
That may not sound like much - but there is still the travel agency to run and take stuff to the auction and take stuff to the antique mall and look for yet MORE stuff to sell.
Here are some pics of recent works.
Some are in progress and some are completed.

I love to paint.
I paint.
A LOT.
That means that there are a lot of paintings finished.
A LOT.
My New Year's Resolution was to get my feet wet and try to sell some paintings and learn the "how" and "where" of selling my art work.
In the meantime, I am uh, building inventory......

I bought a vast amount of canvas on ebay.
I think the canvas is like the end-run of a manufacturing process. It comes double-primed and ready to go.
I also buy used pre-painted canvases and paint those too.

I staple the ebay canvas to plywood...

I paint flat - not upright and when they are dry and I am deciding if they are done, I stack them up against a wall.

When I am sure a painting is "done" I put a clear seal on the painting and remove the staples and stack the painting on the stack.
I have a framer in Portland that does a great job of putting these on stretcher bars when I want them to be wall-ready.

It is a good thing that I can stack these paintings on top of one another - if they were stretched or framed - then I would truly run out of room, because I simply cannot
CAN NOT
stop painting.
There are far more serious afflictions to have than the compulsion to paint.
Yes.
I am sure there are worse things.
Yeah.
I am sure of it.....

There are several artists I have seen online that have s similar look and I wanted to be able to paint the way they do.
It looks simple enough....
Blocky shapes and lines and some squiggles here and there.
Oh my! I have been trying for ages to get "close" to what I admire.
This week I got on the pathway to what I like....

Nope.
Not what I wanted...

I am liking it better and better....

Aha!
I think I am on the path!
I think the difficulty has been in the paint that I use and the type of paint other artists use.
I use house paint and garage sale paint and other folks have artist's paint and special mediums to add to paint to get certain effects.
I am pleased with this one.
